What it is

Ceramide 3 (NP) is a lipid molecule that makes up roughly 50% of your skin’s outermost protective layer, the stratum corneum. It’s one of the most abundant and well-studied ceramide subclasses.

How it works

Ceramides act like mortar between bricks, holding skin cells together in an organized structure. This structure prevents water from escaping and blocks irritants, allergens, and bacteria from entering. Without enough ceramide, the barrier develops microscopic gaps.

Why we chose it

Most brands add a token amount of ceramide for the ingredient list and call it a day. We built our entire product line around Ceramide 3 at a functional concentration — because a serum that ignores the skin barrier is treating symptoms, not the cause.
